SPECIAL REPORT
Don't let your boss lull you to sleep about your workers comp claim
If your boss doesn't do the following regarding your report of a work related injury you need to get to a workers comp attorney right away:
1. Your boss should recommend immediate medical attention for your accident injury even if it appears minor. If they don't do this, you need to get an attorney's help.
2. Your boss should give you the name of the workers comp insurance company that is supposed to handle your claim. If he balks at doing this you're going to have problems.
3. Your boss should send a report of your accident and injury to the State which will result in your receiving information from the State as to your rights and benefits. If you don't get something from the State within a short time after your injury (30 days) that may mean your boss is not following the law and you could lose as well.
NEVER COMPLETELY RELY ON YOUR BOSS TO HAVE YOUR INTEREST PROTECTED IN YOUR WORKERS COMP CLAIM. Get the advice of an attorney if any of these situations come up in your claim.
