Your Accident and Five Important Steps

THE FIVE MOST IMPORTANT STEPS TO TAKE RIGHT AFTER AN ACCIDENT.

SPECIAL REPORT

 

  • Complete the accident information form in my book that you should have in your glove compartment. That Book is entitled "How To Avoid Wrecking Your Accident Case." Complete the form at the scene of the accident, or If injured have someone else complete it for you. Try to complete all nine pages beginning on page thirty-nine as soon as possible after the accident.

 

 

  • Stay at the scene of the accident until police have come and gone, making sure you have the name of the officer(s) and that they have your version of what happened.

 

 

  • Never say you're not injured if you don't know FOR SURE. Even a minor low impact collision can cause injuries that are unknown until a week or so later.

 

 

  • Review your policy to make sure of your coverage. Make a list of questions and related information you want to know. After you have completed your list, consult but not necessarily hire an attorney, to get these questions answered and to learn your rights and all of the steps you need to protect them.

 

 

  • Report the accident promptly to your insurance company.
